It’s that time of the year again. Your best friend turns a year older in one week, and you start brainstorming what kind of gift you should get them. No matter how much you think about it, you can’t find the perfect gift. There’s one thing, though: your best friend LOVES to golf. Still can’t think of the ideal present? We’ve got you covered! Here are 8 golf gifts you can get for someone who loves to golf:
1. Golf Cap
Simple but effective, a golf cap is a must-have for all golfers. Not only are they very stylish, but golfers spend most of their time outdoors and under the hot sun. Staying out for hours at a time puts golfers at a higher risk of suffering from a nasty sunburn or dehydration (learn more about how to avoid this here). Another disadvantage is that with the sun in their eyes the whole time, they might not be able to see too well and might lose the focus of their game! That’s why a golf cap is a present that is sure to come in handy. It’s useful, and one can never have too many.
2. Golf Ball Marker
A golf ball marker is one of the golfer’s smallest, yet most important, pieces of equipment out on the green. This small piece of metal is usually used to mark the last position in which the ball was, allowing golfers not to lose their spots. However, along the years, golf ball markers have become a lot more than just that. Now available in all shapes and colours, most golf ball markers have become very versatile and customizable. Many of them are usually plastered with certain symbols, phrases, and colours that represent the owner’s interests and allow for self-expression. So, think about gifting someone a golf ball marker - maybe you can engrave their (or your) name on it (and keep an eye out for Caddyboo’s newest golf ball marker! 😉)
3. Golf Magazine Subscription
Sometimes, the person you’re buying a gift for seems to have just about anything. But you know the one thing they can never do enough of? Improve!
There’s always space for learning more golf tips & tricks, and working on stepping up your game. One great way to do that is to learn from the experts. That’s why gifting someone a subscription to a reputable golf magazine is a great place to start. Our personal favourites are GOLF, Women’s Golf Journal and Golf Digest. Not only will they learn while enjoying the read and will constantly be up-to-date with new information, but they also become part of that magazine’s community, partaking in more events and tournaments! There’s no better gift than the gift of golf on paper.
4. Putter Head Cover
A good golfer knows to keep a putter head cover around. Without it, golf equipment is likely to get scratched and damaged. Putter head covers are great for offering protection and also make your equipment more stylish. With a very wide selection available anywhere, one can choose the model, size, colour, and pattern they like. A customized putter head cover with a sentimental message for your loved one is a gift that is guaranteed to make their day!
5. Golf Glove
Golfers are rarely seen without a glove. Usually worn in the “weaker” hand, golf gloves are helpful in improving grip. By creating friction, gloves help golfers hold the club, whereas not wearing a glove means the golfer might struggle, with the club being too loose. Premium golf gloves are therefore a great gift idea, because they make the game easier, more enjoyable and make your outfit ten times cooler.
6. PGA Championship Tickets
All golfers and golf enthusiasts have at least one golfer or golfing tournament that is their favourite, and that they would never miss out on. However, not all of them get a chance to watch them live. The next time you want to get something for someone who loves golf, just hop on the PGA website, look for the game nearest to you, and buy a ticket for you and your loved one. Sometimes, making memories for someone and buying them an experience is worth a thousand physical presents.
7. Golf Towel
Golf towels are absolutely crucial in a game of golf and can impact it big time. However, many people don’t pay attention to the quality of the towel they’re buying, and usually opt for ones that get worn out easily or don’t clean a ball the way they’re supposed to. That’s why, a high-quality golf towel would make for a great golf present. It should be durable and long-lasting, as well as being able to remove all the dirt molecules stuck on the golf ball to make sure that the ball’s performance isn’t in any way affected. Look for one in your friend’s favourite colour, and you’re good to go! Can’t find a golf towel that meets these criteria? Take a look at our offers here!
8. Pack of Sustainable Golf Balls
If you’re still not convinced, the easiest solution would be to gift someone a pack of new golf balls that are sustainable and last a long time. The recipient of this present is likely to find it very useful as essentially, one cannot play golf without golf balls. What’s more, is that they are more prone to becoming worn out because of use or disappearing altogether after a putt. Our favourite golf balls are those provided by AlbusGolf. They're sustainable and do not harm the environment. So, the next time you’re out golfing with a friend and they lose their golf ball, make a mental note of it: that’s what they’re getting for their next birthday.
